Delta bluesman Tab Benoit was a prodigy when he first made his name on the club scene as a teenager; now in his early 40s, he’s a grizzled veteran. In addition to touring regularly, he owns a café in his hometown of Houma, La., and runs Voice Of The Wetlands, an organization founded to promote awareness of Louisiana’s coastal-erosion problem. Benoit approaches live shows with a freewheeling fire that eschews set lists and standardized arrangements in favor of following his muse wherever it leads.
